Chadwick Lawrence Welcome New Partners And Associates
Chadwick Lawrence recently announced the promotion of seven members of staff, who have been recognised for their hard work and dedication to the legal firm.
Yorkshire’s Legal People announced the appointment of four new partners and three new associates across the board, as part of the on-going development of the Chadwick Lawrence team.
Nils O’Donoghue (Employment and Regulatory), Nicola Cooper (Corporate and Contracts), Rebecca Payne (Family Law) and Bhavna Patel (Home and Property) have all been promoted to firm Partners. Sue Preece (Wills and Probate), Josh Smith (Dispute Resolution) and Natalie Glover (Home and Property) have all progressed to Associates.
Nils O’Donoghue, based at the Wakefield office, joined the Chadwick Lawrence team in May 2011 and quickly progressed to associate within the firm in October 2015. His specialism within the firm is largely within health and safety matters, including advising businesses on investigations and prosecutions brought by the Health and Safety Executive. He has also assisted in heading the firm’s Criminal Law department and expanding the offering within the last 12 months.
Nicola Cooper, based at the Leeds Dock Street office, qualified as a solicitor in 2009. She is head of the firm’s Corporate and Contracts department and provides a particular specialism in corporate mergers, acquisitions, restructures and corporate finances. Additionally, she has vast experience dealing with shareholder and partnership agreements.
After joining the firm in 2013, Rebecca Payne has helped to strengthen the Family Law department’s belief in adopting non-confrontational approaches towards divorce and separation. Based at the Wakefield office, Rebecca is a strong advocate of collaborative law and has vast experience in all areas of Family Law matters.
Bhavna Patel qualified as a solicitor in 2004, and has worked for Chadwick Lawrence since 2013. She currently is a Team Leader in the Home and Property Department, and is based at the Chadwick Lawrence Morley office dealing with all varying aspects of Residential Property Law.
New associate, Sue Preece, has been an employee of the firm since 1994 and has since progressed from her position as fee earner. Her work in the Wills department has recently seen the firm listed on the DAA register for Dementia Friendly businesses.
Joshua Smith is a member of the Dispute Resolution team, specialising in commercial and civil law disputes. He has experience of acting in a wide variety of commercial and civil disputes affecting both claimants and defendants. Josh also carries out work on a pro-bono basis for a local University community advice service, offering guidance and assistance to those often not familiar with the legal world.
Based at the Wakefield office, Natalie Glover is the second member of the Home and Property department to receive a promotion. Her specialism focuses on residential conveyancing, she works closely with several national building firms, agents and brokers.
