Chadwick Lawrence Raise Money for Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day
Chadwick Lawrence staff located at the Wakefield office recently took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day 2017.
Team members were encouraged to bake their own cupcakes and bring these in to the office to sell, in order to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society. The team also held a raffle with two hampers filled with delicious treats as prizes for the lucky winners.
The team raised £356.20 in total from the day, which will go towards vital research that will support those who are living with dementia, and also those who are affected by dementia. The funds that the Wakefield team raised would pay for a National Dementia Helpline Advisor to provide over 20 hours of crucial support to people affected by dementia.
Dementia is the number one cause of death in England and Wales, and currently has no cure. In 2016, the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day was a huge success and across the country raised £330,000 to fund research into the condition.
Alzheimer’s Society is committed to investing in cutting-edge research, with every project funded to directly address the needs and concerns of people affected by dementia. Not only do they provide funds for vital research, they also campaign for rights for those living with the condition, and provide advice and information for families and friends who may have a loved one living with dementia.
The Wills and Probate team at Chadwick Lawrence are all Dementia Friends, having completed workshops where they have learnt about the conditions and the small things that they can do to support people with dementia in their communities.
