Brexit Presentation at Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry Conference
Chadwick Lawrence were recently invited to speak at the annual conference of the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry (ASBCI) on the theme of Brexit and the implications on the industry.
Daniel Krigers and Charlotte Ardron from the employment team hosted a lunchtime table to discuss the employment law implications of Brexit, which includes the latest negotiations on movement and settlement of EU workers, a proposed new immigration system and possible implications of the removal or amendment of legislation passed within the European Union.
Daniel said: “We were very pleased to be asked to speak at the annual conference in October. Much of the current debate surrounds the movement of workers and this is of significant interest to many of the ASBCI members.
Beyond this issue, there is great uncertainty about the future of many pieces of regulation which originate from EU law. Members raised concerns about the perceived deficiencies of the Working Time Regulations and the rules on business and service transfers; we hope that, in the coming months, the Government will start to provide us with greater clarity on the same.
Meanwhile, we look forward to attending future events with the ASBCI as we continue our partnership with the organisation.
