Consumer Rights Bill in Parliament
The Consumer Rights Bill has now been introduced to Parliament for approval and will begin its parliamentary progress.
The Bill has undergone several changes during the consultation phase, including now covering goods which have been manufactured or produced for the customer and giving traders a right to repair digital content.
The Consumer Rights Bill represents the biggest overhaul of consumer rights in England since the Sale of Goods Act was introduced in the 70s. Both traders and consumers are going to have to be prepared for the sweeping changes that will come into force.
Here in Chadwick Lawrence’s commercial contracts team, we will be watching the bill’s progress with interest and in the meantime, if your terms and conditions need reviewing, contact the Chadwick Lawrence contracts team on 01484 519999 or by email at nicolacooper@chadlaw.co.uk
