Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust A&E waiting times revealed for December
The NHS has unveiled their official figures for accident and emergency waiting times and revealed that nationwide, targets have hit their lowest level in 14 years.
Doctors are asked to admit or triage A&E patients within four hours of arrival 95% of the time, but the average waiting time for December 2017 was 85.1%.
The published data shows that Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary recorded a figure of 91.8%, meaning that of 18,368 patients that attended A&E last month, over 1,500 had to wait longer than four hours.
Dr Mark Davies, clinical lead for A&E, said “December into January proved one of the most challenging times for everyone providing NHS care not just in A&E departments, but throughout hospitals and community.
“All our teams have worked together and with ambulance colleagues to try their very best to ensure all patients arriving at our hospitals have been assessed and received the care they needed in a timely fashion after their arrival.”
