Claimant awarded £4,000 for accident in a pub
The Claimant went to the toilets at her local pub near to closing time. The toilets had been mopped but there were no wet floor signs put out and the Claimant slipped, sustaining ligament damage to her knee.
The Defendant Insurers went into administration and so the claim had to be directed to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. Liability was admitted and the first offer made was within the bracket of which was acceptable for the Claimant’s injury. The offer was therefore accepted by the Claimant. Client damages were settled in the sum of £4,500.00 and around 16 months after the Claimant’s accident the claim had been settled.
