Ex-BHS Boss Pleads Guilty to Speeding
Dominic Chappell, former BHS boss, was caught driving at 63.8mph in a 40mph zone in Andover, Hampshire, on 6 April 2016.
Mr Chappell pleaded guilty to the offence and he already has 10 points on his license for three other speeding offences which took place in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Magistrate, Kathryn Sharp, said: “looking at the speed and driving records we should be looking at five points and the possibility of totting disqualification”. In any event, the minimum punishment for speeding is three points, which will ensure that Mr Chappell passes the 12 point threshold for disqualification.
The case was adjourned and Mr Chappell is set to appear at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on 8 August 2016.
